Events:

Traditional Events: Community Fair, Nativity PlayWeekly community folk dance parties.

Three teachers at Green Hills School, participating in the Rural School Development Project, were housed in “Little Log” cabin at PMSS. Line Fork Center housed Rural School Development Project teacher for Koyle’s Branch School.

Dr. Meador held a two week dental clinic in a State Board of Health trailer.

Community activities based at Pine Mountain included woodwork, music and sewing.

Dr. Scudder submitted a proposal to the Duke Endowment Fund for development of the hospital for surgery.

A fire detection system was installed in the hospital.

The farm carried beef cattle through the winter, and reduced the poultry project, to be ended at the close of the present productive season. The sheep project continued.

Weddings of office secretary Dorothy Nace and Jac Tharpe, and former teacher Ruby Yocum and Hibbard Thatcher took place in the Chapel in November.

Frank Smith, Berea College Recreation Extension, conducted a sword dance class.
