PHOTOGRAPHS Guide

The following PHOTOGRAPHS GUIDE contains information on photographic holdings at Pine Mountain Settlement School. The locations of photographic materials vary. Most photographs are housed at the Boy’s House Library and Archive and are not available for on-site browsing.

This record includes the Berea College identification for surrogates (copies) of the photographic holdings at Pine Mountain held in the Hutchins Library at Berea College. Not all photographs at PMSS may be found reproduced in the Berea collections. The Berea copies were selected from the comprehensive holdings at the School. Scholars would be advised to use the online resources here and in Hutchins Library at Berea College before requesting permission for access to the physical material held at Pine Mountain.

Only selected photographs are represented in the Berea collection and many new acquisitions, post-1983, are not represented at all. Where possible, the collections have been annotated with holdings information for both Berea and Pine Mountain Settlement School.

All images are the property of Pine Mountain Settlement School and PERMISSION IS REQUIRED for publication or COMMERCIAL re-use of the Pine Mountain Settlement School holdings whether held at Berea or at Pine Mountain.
