ANGELA MELVILLE ALBUM II – Part IV
(Images 151-200)

The Angela Melville Album II – Part IV is part of a series of web pages that display images from an album assembled by a former PMSS worker, Mary Angela Melville. The Album has been broken into 7 parts to accommodate the large number of images (some 331). Miss Melville played significant roles in the history of the School as a fundraiser and office worker from 1916 to 1920 and associate director from 1928 to 1930.

The album was donated to Pine Mountain Settlement School in June 2011 by Angela Melville’s niece, Ann Melville Wilson. The donation included the photograph album as well as newspaper clippings and a small booklet written by Angela Melville in 1957 for her nieces and nephews, called “Woodboo – 1957,” that describes her former home and life.

The condition of the photograph album is very poor. Many of the images were damaged by moisture and were adhered to one another or were badly stained or showed substantial emulsion-shift. Luckily, many of the damaged images are reproduced in other collections. Pine Mountain is beginning the process of restoration of many of the images and they are being placed alongside the damaged items in the various Parts I, II, III, etc. The online album will grow as it will now duplicate images in each Part. Please excuse the inconvenience as we shift images and add the new modified images.

Many images have annotations in the margins provided by Angela Melville and many of those annotations identify individuals and locations that are not indicated on other photograph copies in the collection.
