Traditional Events:

Homecoming, Fair Day, Fall Color Week-end, Nativity Play, Wildflower Week-end, Black Mountain Wildflower Week-end.

Other Events:

Community Clinic sponsored by Frontier Nursing Service continued. Elwood Carr Plant Studies Center established in Draper Building.

G.E.D. program at PMSS, Co-sponsored by Harlan County Board of Education, Southeast Community College and PMSS.

4 Elderhostels held at PMSS, 2 sponsored by PMSS & 2 by Berea College.

Alumni Work Week-end, May 24-27, Edible Plants Workshop May 31, June 2, Appalachian Family Week July 7-13, Medicinal Plants Week-end August 2-4.

Work on updating water system continued.

James Crase was named to Board of Trustees. Francis Hutchins resigned from Board, and was named Honorary Trustee. Jack Martin was named Alumni Representative to Board. Ruth Shuler Dieter became Chairman of the Advisory Council.

The maintenance staff continued work on the water system.

In summer, 1985, a group of 12 Pine Mountain Country Dancers, plus 3 adults, travelled to Denmark on a folk dance exchange.

Bell-Harlan County Upward Bound program housed at PMSS in conjunction with Southeast Community College.
