1 August 27, 1941. To Miss Olive D. Coolidge, Hinckley Farm, Nantucket, MA, from Glyn Morris, PMSS Director, responding to Coolidge’s “night letter” that she was interested in a position that he proposed in an August 12th letter. He will recommend her to the Board for confirmation. He asked for an arrival date, hoping she can fill in when nurse Grace Rood’s substitute is away. He suggests arranging a meeting with Rood before arrival for further information.

1a August 29, 1941. Western Union telegram to Robert C. Butman, ℅ Pan American Airways, Boston, MA, from “Dad (Richard Coolidge),” informing him that “Oggy left for Washington last night.”

2 August 30, 1941. Western Union telegram to Olive Coolidge, ℅ Sauchlin Currie in Washington, DC, from “Father and Mother” (Richard and Ruth Coolidge), reporting that PMSS accepts her application pending Board confirmation and giving her advice.

3 August 30, 1941. Western Union telegram to Olive Coolidge, Washington, DC, from “Bob” (Butman) in Jacksonville, FL, with his arrival information.

7 September 5, 1941. Western Union telegram to Olive Coolidge, Staunton, Va, from “Tog and June,” encouraging her to choose the PMSS position: “valuable interesting experience in new setting, probably only such opportunity.”

8 September 7, 1941. Western Union telegram to Olive Coolidge, Staunton VA, from Glyn Morris. Due to delay in the Board confirmation, he suggests she arrive on August 8 “on unofficial appointment.” He provides travel instructions.

10 November 14, 1941. Typewritten Western Union night telegram, To Miss Liva (Olive) Coolidge, PMSS, from “Bob” (Butman), Washington, DC, who will be in New York and asks Liva to wire her plans.

11 November 15, 1941. Western Union telegram to Robert C. Butman, Washington, DC, from “Oggy” (Olive), Harlan, KY, informing him of her possible days in Washington.
