The 1972 PMSS Calendar is a photograph of a small marsh that reflects the intense sun on a winter day. The photographer is unknown.

The card strongly reflects the focus on the environment and was certainly influenced by thelopment  new Environmental Education program that was under development in 1972. The beginning phase of developing an on-site environmental program for Pine Mountain Settlement School was under way and attention turned from the built environment to the natural one and a natural one that is inspected with close observation.
