PUBLICATIONS PMSS CALENDAR 1942
The 1942 Calendar, printed by the Pine Mountain Settlement School Print Shop, is the design of John A. Spelman III and contains his drawings. The scenes of the rural countryside with its wooden homes and barns became a signature subject for Spelman who served as the art instructor at the School in the late 1930s. The art of Spelman is easily recognized for its lyrical style and focus on architectural forms typical of the region.
