[001 & 002] March 30, 1918 [2 pages, unsigned]. Pettit[?] to “Lillian and Minnie”. Describes Miss Gaines and Pettit[?]’s visit to Hindman School and its progress; overnight at Mary Stacey’s; return trip to P.M.; gardening. Handwritten notation, first page: “Mrs. Higgins Lewis”.

[003] March 30, 1918 [1 page, unsigned]. Pettit[?] to “Min” (Mrs. W. O. Bullock). Provides instructions to send box to current freight station, Chad, KY ; road troubles; water pipes; Mary Stacey and Linda Neville’s health issues.

[004] August 16, 1918 [1 page, unsigned – Pettit?] to “Min”. Relates Mary Stacey’s appreciation for Min’s help; thanks Min for helping Mary Smith and for bandages; clinic work; Nurse Lavender.

[005] July 18, 1918 [1 page, unsigned – Pettit ] to “Min”. Encloses letter from Mary Cody Smith, who needs hospitalization and Min’s help. Handwritten notation: “Mrs. W.O. Bullock.”

[006] July 26, 1918 [1 half-page]. Katherine Pettit to “Min”, Lexington, KY. Encloses another letter from Mary Smith, who needs Min or Lillian’s help entering a hospital; Linda Neville is too busy preparing for clinic.

[007] November 13, 1918 [1 page]. Katherine Pettit to Mrs. Morton, Lexington, KY. Influenza epidemic; The State has taken over road; will use convict labor and begin next spring; hopes Mrs. Morton can visit once road is built; describes how end of war was announced; describes progress of Zande House; student anecdote. Handwritten notations: “for your Buddie” and “What about Miss E. Coules.”

[008] December 4, 1918 [1 page, unsigned]. Pettit[?] to “Min”. Thanks Min for “large poke of [Christmas] things”; thanks to Jennie Simmons for skirt. Handwritten notations: “Mrs. W.O. Bullock” and “6 new aprons – 75 c. apiece”.

[009] November 8, 1918 [1 half-page, unsigned]. EZ (Ethel Zande] to “Min” (Mrs. Waller O. Bullock), Lexington, KY. Expecting Mrs. Lansing, Miss Gaines, and Miss Parkinson; they will be temporarily isolated for possible influenza; received Min’s parcel prior to her arrival.

[010] October 16, 1918 [1 page, unsigned]. KP to “Min” (Mrs. Waller O. Bullock, care of Higgins Lewis), Lexington, KY. Thanks Min for wool comfort; preparing room for Min’s visit; instructs Min to write Wilson Lewis at Dillon to meet her; hopes she brings Annie Lewis; lists newspapers at P.M.
