[n.d.] Telegram to Mrs. Mary Thomas, Miss Robertson, Mrs. Wadsworth. Dr. Francis ill with flu. Travel is prohibited. Will go later. 02 March 14 to PMSS. Tuckers request the month off (middle of May to middle of June) from duties at PMSS. Requests referral of patients to Harlan during time off for complicated cases and others can rely on the nurse (Grace Rood). Requests that notification of mothers expecting to bear children during time off will be notified. Will be first vacation in 20 months since coming to PMSS for the Tuckers.

August 26, Drs. Tucker to Director H.R.S. Benjamin. Response to the water-shortage situation at PMSS. Three recommendations for the dilemma. # 3 Dr. Francis believes there is sufficient reserve to go forward if water is limited and emergency water is pulled from the swimming pool … good insurance against fire.

September 4. Drs. Tucker to Director H.R.S. Benjamin regarding unsupervised use of the swimming pool that could make the School liable. The doctors also advised the growing possibility of “catching colds” in the cool evenings if swimming is allowed.

September 6. Drs. Tucker reported to the Office on the condition of the refrigerator in the Hospital and advised that the staff at the Hospital (West Wind) would like to sell the refurbished equipment and they describe how this might be done. It was noted by the Tuckers that the Brit Wilder and the LaRue families are interested in the possible purchase of the refrigerator.

[n.d.] H.R.S. Benjamin to Dr. Francis Tucker regarding the installation of a barber’s chair on “some un-used place on grounds.” to be maintained by student Arch Lewis, who has shown skill as a barber. Dr. Francis suggests using an old dentist’s chair rather than purchasing a used barber chair.
