Margery Peck came to the Pine Mountain Settlement School (PMSS) from 1917 to 1919, soon after she graduated from Vassar College. To date, the only other information found in the PMSS Collections is the following excerpt from a letter written by Marguerite Butler on November 18, 1917. (Marguerite was also from Vassar and worked at PMSS as a teacher, housemother, superintendent of extension work, and fundraiser for the School from 1914 until 1922.)
Last night Miss Whitmore, [Frances] Lavender, [Lilliath] Robbins, and [Margery] Peck had Celia [Cathcart] and me to Far House for supper, Had a lovely time. Cooked in Miss Lavender’s room, the one at extreme right all to itself. Was Mrs. [Ethel] Zande’s when she lived at Far House. We had the best things to eat. Miss Peck is a Vassar 1917 girl. Her sister was in my class.
