January 25, 1927. [unsigned]. EZ [Ethel Zande] to “Kate” [Katherine Pettit], Lexington, KY. Asks about inviting Board members for May Day; purchasing Wilder farm holdings. [003]

January 27, 1927. [unsigned, half-page]. CH to Miss Pettit, Lexington, KY. Asks about accepting a girl recommended by Dr. [Ida] Stapleton; Farm House has been changed again to a girls’ house. [004]

February 4, 1927. [unsigned]. ? to “Kate” [Katherine Pettit], Lexington, KY. Reasons “Pattie” should not change schools; why children are not doing well at Berea in English; Berea may change their English policy; hiring teachers. [005]

February 4, 1927. [unsigned]. EZ [Ethel Zande] to “Kate” [Katherine Pettit], Lexington, KY. Explains why she prefers using Farm House for Mr. & Mrs. Browning instead of building a new house for them; suggests using student labor to build a new dormitory, remodel Infirmary, add a room to Model Home ; re-aligning the creek. April 6, 1927. [unsigned, truncated] ? to “Elizabeth”. Agreed to send coverlet and blanket made by the Fireside Industries Dept; describes weaving ; lists other items she can send; refers her to Miss May Stone, Hindman ; pageant ; anecdote. [010]

May 2, 1927. [unsigned, half-page] KP to “Elizabeth” (Mrs. Louis D. Risser), Columbus Grove, OH. Assures her that P.M. items will “get sold in the course of time”. [011]

August 15, 1927. [unsigned] KP to “Elizabeth Hodge”, (Mrs. Louis D. Risser), Columbus Grove, OH. Hopes she can interest people in sending annual subscriptions; new English nurse; 28 P.M. students at Berea last year; other P.M. accomplishments; visit by curators from NY Natural History Museum to collect rare salamander. September 19 1927. [unsigned] ? to “Elizabeth” (Mrs. Louis D. Risser), Columbus Grove, OH. Glad Elizabeth is well enough give PMSS speeches; explain origins and policies of Fireside Industries; weaving and dyeing, managed by Miss Daniels. [013]

September 19, 1927. Helen H. Dingman, Editor, Mt Life & Work, Berea, KY, to Miss Pettit. Writing biography for April issue; asking Mrs. Campbell if it can be dedicated to Mr. Campbell; asks Pettit to write one of the sketches; explains how stories will be about successful mountain people; asks for suggestions.
