The initials at the bottom left of most PMSS letters indicate the writer (along with initials of the secretary). For example, “GM” are the initials for Glyn Morris, Director. The postcards from Mary Rockwell Hook are handwritten. The following list of contents is in chronological order and not necessarily in order of the image numbers.]

001 N.D. (Notation in top margin: June 25, 1933). Postcard to “Mr. (Glyn) Morris” from “Mary Rockwell Hook,” Black Mountain, NC, asking if he has returned yet. Tells him she and the boys are planning to “walk over Pine Mt. for at least a night.”

002 Aug 6, (no year). Postcard to “Mr. Morris” from “Mary R. Hook,” who has sent the School bathing suits and other things for the girls and boys. She is sorry Mary Gilson is ill and cannot visit PMSS; asks if Open House is repaired.

004 August 9, 1944. To “Mrs. Hook” in Kansas City, Mo., from Glyn Morris, Director, thanking her for the gift of clothing and bathing outfits. The School received 400 student applications but only 120 children could be accepted. 

003 August 22, 1933. To “Mrs. Hook” from Glyn Morris, Director. “Open House is at the present time housing nine boys and a worker.” 

005 September 2(?), 1933. To “Mrs. Hook” from (unsigned), who asks for a donation for installing a furnace at Zande House.
