…visit to Harlan County, May 1, 1899. Trustees and staff presented a drama written by Jane Hobgood.
There was a near-disaster at the Chapel, as the oil furnace melted down, with two safety cut-offs failing to function. The chapel was filled with smoke but there was no structural damage.
