Ruby Yocum Thatcher, a graduate of Berea College, Kentucky, was a teacher of seventh and eighth grades at Pine Mountain Settlement School from 1950 to 1953.

A more comprehensive Ruby Yocum Thatcher photograph collection in an album gathered by Ruby Yocum was donated to Pine Mountain by Ruby Yocum Thatcher’s son in 2025. Some photographs overlap in the two collections.
