QUAKER SUPPORTERS OF PINE MOUNTAIN SETTLEMENT SCHOOL

The Wolfe couple were long supporters of Pine Mountain Settlement School. As Quakers, they shared a deep friendship with Burton and Mary Rogers who were also Quakers. The volunteerism of the couple through the American Friends Service Committee project at Pine Mountain was the connecting relationship that brought them to the School in 1951 and kept them returning over many years.

The following Scrapbook was assembled by the Wolf couple of their work with the School. It is a broad account of their individual meaningful work and that of the American Friends Service Committee volunteers who have given of their time to the School over the years. Many items duplicate publications already held within the Archive, but the personal accounts of the couple provide an excellent collected memory of the Work Camp volunteers and of their projects, personal work, and reflections of their time at the School during the 1950s. The Wolfe couple remained long-time friends of the School, the Rogers, and others they encountered while working there.
