Director Burton Rogers writes to “Dear Friends” that this spring letter will focus on “the day-today, sometimes behind-the scenes involvements necessary for the functioning of the School and its associated activities ... and which tax our resources of staff and money….”

Rogers then describes the repairs that are needed to the inside and outside of several School buildings. The campus roads need more gravel and many adjustments need to be done by the maintenance crew after the public road is rebuilt. Insurance (mostly against fire) costs on the buildings have risen. Rogers lists the supplies needed by various departments.

The School does not yet know what the summer programs will ask from the School. Rogers describes several projects in progress or recently completed which indicate ways that PMSS is bringing “increased opportunity to the Pine Mountain community.”

Rogers states that the School’s need for a new tractor “has raised our estimated cost of these unbudgeted ‘extras,’ needed in the near future, to $6,355.00. In addition, our regular program expense for the final quarter of this fiscal year is estimated to require $19,000.00. He asked for help to meet these costs and thanks donors for past help and encouragement.

“Sincerely yours,
[signed] Burton Rogers, Director”
