ARTS AND CRAFTS CERAMICS Photographs of PMSS Pottery

In 2017 photographs were made of all the ceramics remaining at Pine Mountain Settlement School following the 1960s-1970s pottery initiative. The pottery was then wrapped in tissue paper and placed in archival boxes for storage. This is a record of the boxed items. Multiple images were taken and items are repeated in many photographs.

Crafted in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the collection is largely comprised of salt-glazed and wood-fired ceramics. Many pieces represent experiments with local clay, glazes, and various firing methods.
