The following photographs of the Creech family are from the Friends & Neighbors collection, box 27. The Creech family is the most important family to the history of Pine Mountain Settlement School. It was “Uncle” William Creech’s request for a school that led to the founding of Pine Mountain Settlement School. The Creech family lived only a short distance from the School and their relatives not far from them. The family settled the Pine Mountain valley very early in the history of the region.
