Series I: Ethel Marguerite de Long Zande
Folder 71. Chester Lewis, 1915. 3 items

Chester Lewis was a student who, in January 1915, had to go to a sanitarium in Ohio to be treated for tuberculosis. He wrote a letter to “My Dear Suger Plum” which the School duplicated, but it is not clear how it was used — possibly to send to selected people to raise funds for his treatment. (In a letter to Arabella and Helen [Series I, Folder 30], Ethel writes that she does not know how the expense will be met, but that the Roettingers will help.)

The original and the copies in this collection were all found in the one envelope addressed in EZ’s hand to Helen de Long, 425 Washington St., Norwich Town, Conn. and postmarked “Pine Mountain, Ky. January 26, 1915. AM.”
