Dear Mrs. Cox:
I think that it is best for Billy not to come to school any more this year, as he is the only child in his grade, and the teacher is unable to give him the attention he needs. Another year there will be more children in the first grade. He would have to take the grade over again next year, anyway.

I am so sorry we can’t teach him as he needs, this year. He is such a dear little fellow!
Sincerely yours,

My dear Mrs. Cox:
Eula has handed in her card to come to school next year. Of course, we cannot consider her application, at least until she makes some explanation to me of the way she left school. I have seen her on the grounds several times, but she has never come near me. Perhaps you will come up and talk to me some time if you really want her to be in school next year.
Sincerely yours,
[unsigned, from Evelyn K. Wells]
Acting Director

My dear Mr. Cox:
Our nurse, upon examining your daughter, Eula Gray, discovered that she had defective tonsils. It may be necessary, although we are not sure, to have them removed. In case the doctor advises such, and will do it free of charge, will you give your permission to have it done? If so, please sign below and send this letter back to us.
Sincerely,
[unsigned, from Glyn Morris]
Director

I hereby give permission for my daughter, Eula Gray Cox, to have tonsils removed if the doctor finds it necessary.

Mr. [Glyn] Morris,
I have signed this slip for Eula and I wish you would look at her feet. They are so sore and all swelled around her ankles. I think the nurse ought to do something for them. But she tells Eula they will get all right, but that worries me when they get all swelled up.

And I owe $8.50 for Eula’s tuition for Sept and October and $2.30 for sewing and $.50 book rent. I tried to get to see you about it but I never could and I wanted to tell you I would pay it up next week about Thursday or Friday.
Very respect (sic),
Delora Cox
