[corres-005x] February 22, 1938. To Elbert Tolliver, Helton, KY, from Morris who will send Tolliver “Machine Age of the Hills” when it is available.

[corres-005] May 14, 1938. To Morris from Catherine Hill, Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, Toledo, OH, who asks about a film that Morris offered to loan her to be shown at the sorority’s international convention.
[corres-006] May 19, 1938. To Hill from Arthur W. Dodd, Acting Director, who informed her about the film. It was “written, produced and filmed by one of our younger groups [at] approximately eighth grade level. It is a very simple story but the children attempted to put into it many of the customs and culture traits of the mountain people.”
[corres-007] May 23, 1938. To Dodd from Hill, providing information about the convention in Colorado and her address there.
[corres-008] May 30, 1938. To Hill from Dodd, informing her that the two reels of film will be shipped soon.

[corres-004] August 5, 1938. To Secretary for Miss Helen Dingman, Berea College, Berea, KY, from Morris asking for “any short sketches on the Mountains that could be given by a lay group….”
[corres-003] September 15, 1938. To Miss Hoffsommer from [unsigned, apparently Morris], requesting a copy of Mountain Life and Work that contains the mountain play, “Horse Swapping” which PMSS hopes to produce at the Community Day Program.
[corres-002] September 17, 1938. To Morris from Miss Abigail Hoffsommer, Secretary of Mountain Life and Work, Berea, KY. As requested, she is sending him the April 1937 issue of the publication, containing the play “Thet Fust Class Mule” by the students of the John C. Campbell Folk School. She hopes this is the play he requested.
