BIRDENA BISHOP – Women’s Assembly Talk, Berea College, March 28, 1942

The Birdena Bishop talk to the Women’s Assembly of Berea College on March 28, 1943 was on the invitation of Miss Allen, the Dean of Women at the college.  Given in the second year of her employment at Pine Mountain, the talk centered on her work at the School as a teacher. She reflects on how her social work degree is used in her teaching and in her community work with the students, particularly “home-visiting.” pack library and infirmary work all of which was part of the curriculum under the direction of Glyn Morris and Arthur Dodd. She also describes the school work during war-time.
